Digital technology is the new frontier and with it comes the promise of new and exciting solutions to human problems. However, as with any endeavor undertaken by us humans, our prejudices and hatreds follow us into the digital frontier just as they did when the first colonizers arrived in The Americas. In this online talk, artist and noob techie Mel Vee X breaks down the barriers and challenges racialized folx and multiply marginalized folx have in accessing these technologies and how social justice is critical to achieving technological, and therefore economic, justice.
